China promotes Smoking

In order to help out their own people who are engaged in cultivation of tobacco, the Chinese Government has issued directives. They expect people to smoke quarter of a million cigarettes to ease the situation simultaneously generating tax for the Government. Those who are unable to meet the target would be fined! The Indian Government, on the other hand, is determined to ban smoking with effect from 31st May 2009 – no matter what happens to the millions of those who depend on tobacco and associated products for their livelihood. The axe will fall on tobacco growers, manufacturers of cigarette or bidis and other such products. The will antagonize a large section of corporates as well.

I thought Chinese have a strong health orientation as opposed to Indians.

Controversial news on this, as on one side a regulation was passed urging civil servants to smoke local cigarettes. On the other hand, groups are pressing for tighter control on smoking in China. There are more than 350 million smokers in China, more than 26 percent of its total population,(China Population and Development Research Center)They already have an annual sale of two trillion cigarettes, China is the world's largest cigarette market!

i don't think so they need to promote smoking anymore!

the report was a bit surprising ... it seems out of the 350 million smokers, one million die every year ...

'.... China has 350 million smokers, of whom a million die of smoking-related diseases every year...'

Can it get more ridiculous than this??? Proof that those 'in control' don't give a damn about THE PEOPLE! Do they recommend smoking outside so that children are not the victim of this evil habit forming drug? It's all about money, at the expense of everyone.

Don't smoke, it robs your health, robs your power and your divine right to LIVE a healthy and empowered life. check out www.aveguevara.com to read THE CHE DIARIES. Read what Che Guevara has to say about this from the dimension he now occupies, it's all about the people reclaiming their power that has been robbed by the media, those with the lust for power, money and control. Don't delay, the bad guys are really taking over!
