Aurangabad/ Maharashtra (India) : - (JANAK JOSHI), MAY 4, Congress member of legislative assembly Dr. Kalyan Kale today received injuries when mobs of youngsters pelted stone towards him when he was inspecting an anti encroachment drive in Chikalthana area, Aurangabad. He was admitted to private hospital and said to be fit. Former Congress legislator Abdul Sattar has termed Sena – BJP’s hand in this assault. This incident raised tensions in the Chikalthana area and more police force is deployed. Police claimed situation is under control and nothing to worry. Today was the second day of removing encroachment in Chikalthana area. Aurangabad (East) legislator Dr. Kalyan Kale along with few activist visited the spot at around 11am today. He spoke with people who lost their homes in this action and tried to condole them. When they were about to return, a mob of youths ran towards their car and started stone pelting. They also broke windshields of his car. A stone was hit at head of Dr. Kale who tried to escape. After this mob flee away from the spot. He received minor injuries and started blood flowing. He was admitted to private hospital and said to be all right. Former Congress MLC Abdul Sattar who was returning after attending a ceremony from Zalta village claimed to identify assaulants. He alleged Sena – BJP activists hand behind the incident. Meanwhile, Police themselves lodged a complaint in this incident as no one from Dr.Kale came forward. Police have taken into custody two in connection with the assault. Dr. Kale termed this incident as explosion of sentiments of people who lost their homes in this action. There are 137 illegal construction marked by district administration on government owned land measuring about 9 acres in this area. Then Aurangabad Municipal Commissioner and Divisional Commissioner of Aurangabad Dilip Band decided to remove hurdles to increase width of road here. For that notices were served before seven months. This decision was challenged in courts and after a long battle on April 21 court removed stay on taking action against illegal encroachments. But due to general elections, administration delayed to take action on grounds. On Saturday morning at around 6 am, team of administrative officers along with 200 police, 4 bulldozer and one pock lane machine reached Chikalthana. They gave an hour to people to carry their belongings; most of people followed their instructions and assisted administration. After this about 90 percent illegal constructions were removed in a day and remaining 10 percent today. The complete action is recorded in video camera.
