Usually graffiti artists are discouraged from plying their art on the walls of public places to the point of being arrested and jailed or fined. However, one of the most prestigious concert halls in the world – Royal Albert Hall – is trying to solicit some of those same graffiti artists to paint murals on the walls of a lower floor in the famous London concert hall.
The murals will include performers rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix, opera star Luciano Pavarotti, and “old blue eyes” crooning legend Frank Sinatra along with paintings that will depict significant and important events in the history of the Royal Albert Hall since its inception in 1871.
The completed project will be open to the public one day only on June 22, after that only the artists who use the loading bay entrance of the Hall will be able to view the artwork.
