Real beat third placed Seville 3-2 as they won their 17th game in 19 matches sincetook over in December, with captain Raul scoring a brilliant hatrick. Madrid now lie just four points behind their Catalan rivals.
La Liga's table toppers Barcelona, also on an equally devastating run, gave up two points to their bitter rivals over the weekend as they could only manage a 2-2 draw against fourth placed Valencia.
Ramos said: "Nice. We've won a lot of matches, picking up 17 victories overall, but we've not been able to close on them and at times it makes it hard for you when you don't see any results for the work you are putting in."
Madrid can close the gap to a just a solitary point whem they host Barca next weekend at the Bernabeu.
