SexySteffi's battle in SHAIYA

MMORPG. Online games. Virtual world. SHAIYA.

The past holy week signaled the beginning and end of my battle in the virtual world. I started playing an MMORPG for a week -- trying to level up my character named SexySteffi in an online game known to players as SHAIYA.

It wasn't as sophisticated as Wow but most things are basically the same. The best parts would be killing monsters to level up and killing darkies to get higher ranks.

Another good thing about online games like SHAIYA is the opportunity to talk to people or gamers from different parts of the world. I've met gamers from Colombia, Texas, Australia, etc. Gamers really come from different walks of life. Some are young, some old, some married, some single, some just fooling around, some serious about leveling up.

As a priest, SexySteffi is in demand in the game :-) Some players would always invite her to a party so that they could conquer the monsters without getting killed and losing exp. And since SexySteffi is in the hard mode, her healing power is quite higher.

It was fun being in the virtual world for a week. The only thing that's not good about this game is that even friendship online cannot be developed in a week or even more. SexySteffi met a Spanish gamer from Colombia who taught her to speak basic Spanish but after a while, he just vanished. His name in the game is X_winter_X. At least, SexySteffi learned a bit of Spanish :-)

Then came another company in the game -- his name is -Edge-. He's from Texas, USA. He's in the ultimate mode,which makes his character really tough. He's one of the reasons SexySteffi leveled up so fast. Killing monsters with him really gave my character a big boost on the level. When -Edge- sat to regain his energy in the game, we had a chance to talk about each other's real lives. He said his wife thought playing online games was stupid. When I told him that both my husband and I do play SHAIYA, he said, "That's cool." He said so because according to him, he couldn't even make his wife like the game.

Aside from these two characters, SexySteffi also had fun in the virtual world with -kamikaze-, Nozomi, etc. Well, of course, guilds like Heroes_de_Leyenda and -Salvation- were very helpful in leveling up.

Indeed, the virtual world is so huge that time and space can't be trusted to bridge the gap between and among gamers. Virtual friendships do begin and end in the virtual world -- nothing more, nothing less.

But hey, it was still fun roaming around the Keo, Arktius Vill, etc. and killing monsters at the Cromwell Ruins and at the pvp areas.

At the end of the holy week, SexySteffi has leveled up to 21 :-)
