WILL UVIC BUNNIES GO "BOOM" SOON ?

Looney Tunes..Bruce & Bunnies!

With Easter recently passed, another "bunny" issue has raised its

floppy ears and cottontail at the University of Victoria in British

Columbia, Canada. For many years past people have been releasing

their unwanted pet rabbits near the campus and over time the "feral"

population has grown to over 1500 bunnies munching and borrowing

throughout the area! After all..they ARE rabbits!

Although an interesting aspect of the Universitie's Culture, local residents

and Campus authority are considering a rather "dramatic" solution to

the infestation. It's call the "Rodenator"! and consists of Propane &

Oxygen being pumped down the rabbit holes then ignited....BOOM

goes bunny! It would make Elmer Fudd smile with pleasure.

Animal Right's activists have taken a dim view of this bomb that makes

Rabbit Stew...and are agitating for a more Humane approach to the problem.

Local Veternarian, Nick Shaw, has offered his services to trap and "fix"

or neuter the rascals but faces a lot of "red tape" and resistance to his

more moderate solution. Another group has suggested employing a group

of local hunters to hunt them down and then donate the victims to the

local Food Banks. Still, another group, thinks the rabbits will be "tough",

hard to eat and may carry disease.

So...the question is....Shoot'em & eat'em..Blow them into "Bunny-bits"

OR let'em be?

So...what say you....Peace in the Valley? Or Rabbit Stew?

(and what is a slydog post w/o a Video..enjoy!)
