Since my childhood, as much as I remember, I have always been scared of thunderstorms. The howling winds and the crackling of lightning bolts always freaked me out like anything and to this day I stay afraid. But as much as I was scared of lightning, I always wanted to capture it in my camera but was never successful.
There were two reasons for it. First, I never had enough courage to go out in the thundering weather and snap the pictures of lightening striking the buildings or even just appearing on the sky. Second, every time I did gather all my courage to step outside and take pictures, I somehow always missed it.
I do remember once seeing a photograph of lightning captured by a local photographer in a local newspaper and I still remember my amazement as to how that man would have managed to perfect his timings to capture the real glory of those lightning bolts. Little did I know that was nothing in front of what some of the smart photographers in the world have captured as the lightning crashes from up above the sky.
Today, after almost 10 years I saw some of the most amazing images of lightning strikes I have ever seen in my entire life. These images are captured by some unknown photographer in Dubai but I have to say, this guy knew exactly where to position himself and how to get most of the lightning strikes on his film.
Just look at the images and you will be light-struck (awe-struck). The immense power of destruction that lies in that lightning is extremely intriguing yet truly bone-chilling. Although nothing goes wrong with the tallest building in Dubai where this lightening struck but this doesn’t prove that every building around the world is safe from the destruction of lightening for when it comes striking down and you do not have that lightning conductor to divert it away, you can roast to death!
