The product: Jeanswear
The brand: Levi’s “Unbuttoned” range of Jeans
The occasion: Lakme Fashion Week
The brand ambassador: Akshay Kumar
The Act: Akshay's strutting his stuff on the catwalk. Takes a pause, stops in front of wife Twinkle, seated among the audience, moves close to her and asks her to unbutton his Levi's.
Look at the photograph accompanying this report. The act looks downright obscene. No wonder the husband-wife duo got charged for obscenity, the act qualifying as “indecent and vulgar".
What happened next: Akshay apologised and washed his hands off the incident.
myVox on the incident: The public got it's fifteen minutes of entertainment, Akshay-Twinkle got their endorsement fee, Levi's got the necessary eyeballs, "Unbuttoned" range got registered in the mind of the public in such a way that no matter what you do you may not be able to erase it.
Such was the power of that effectively 'attempted' (mind you, just attempted!)product demo.
So, it's a win-win-win-win for all concerned. And whoever cribs or complains will make a fool of him/herself. 'Coz, if you look closely into the whole chain of events, the entire thing looks planned to the minutest of detail. Let me not call it rehearsed though.
Your take on this is welcome!
