Taliban beating girl in swat

A 17 year old girl has been brutally lashed in front of public by Taliban in Swat area. Two men hold the girl tightly while another bearded man continued whipping her. According to sources, Taliban punished her on the grounds of "exhibitionism" and leaving her house without a guardian.

According to some RELIGIOUS SCHOLARS OF ISLAM, this is not the true picture of Islam which is potrayed by Taliban. Islam believes in the rights of women although there are punishments for such acts. Stranger men holding a girl and beating her brutally in front of whole crowd is itself against the teachings of Islam.

My Heart truly goes out to to the tragedy that this event evokes.
Our own Western History has been a bloodbath of religious turmoil so
I am not calling the Kettle black here. As Westerners, we wish to assist you in your turmoils..and we speak from sad, historical
experience of religiopus battles. BUT..we have generally learned to accept and get along with different precepts of Faith...evidently this
is NOT true in your countries. Freedom & Democracy come through struggle
just like Revolution...The pitched battles of religious ideaology will
either lead your countries down the terrible road of rack & ruin OR
the justice of God's Love will surmount that Hatred and win.

@ slydog...i agree to u to an extent but the problem in our countries are some people who can't even be called half literates though they pretend to be intellectuals of religion.. thier incomplete knowledge of thier own religion, poor socioeconomic conditions and intolerant democratic society has led them to extremism. This case is a classic example, If u closely look at the teachings of Islam, which obviously has laid down few punishments for some particular cases CLEARLY does not allow stranger men to hold a minor girl and brutally beat her infront of public just because she went out of her home without a guardian. Hope God's justice prevails! thx 4 comment
