Freeze me when I die!

Life is a miracle and science is one field on to this life to solve the miracle. We have been able to create life from a cell as they call it cloning. We have done it, we may not be mass producing clones or commercializing it yet but we have done the deed and solved that part of miracle called ‘creation of life.’

Yet, a part of this miracle called ‘resurrection' is yet to be unveiled. Although science and the light bearers of this field are all working day and night to solve this mystery, another group out there has already sold the idea of resurrection to many people in the world.

The American had set up the first freezing facility in the seventies for freezing corpses. The purpose of such facilities is to freeze these dead people for as long as science takes time to successfully unlock the secrets of resurrection and so they may be brought back to life in a future time.

The freezing your loved ones trend in hopes of reliving life some time in future again when science has advanced enough has started hitting Britons as well. As there are no British technology firm is offering such facilities so many Britons arrange for their bodies to be flown to US for freezing them up till later time.

It is interesting how these people ready to be frozen for the next how many years only in hopes of living again to see the glorious future actually believe so strongly in this concept. However creepy it sounds, my only concern is even if someone has enough money to keep paying for their frozen corpse till that golden age of science arrives and this miracle of science called resurrection does become possible, what about the cultural and societal shock that long dead person will face.

No matter how flexible we humans are, we cannot let go of the fact that we always need time to adjust to new things and think of where the world would e about 50 years from now when you wake up after a long asleep and it’s no more the place where you always belonged.

You have an excellent point. No one you know would be alive but I think strong independent people who are interested would like this. The people that are brought back to life may also become celebrities but then again if it's a common practice then probably not. Also, with the rate of inflation of money, they had better have a string of family memebers investing their money wisely!!!

Well, I totally agree with you, Laney. Also, nobody knows how long it will take science to reach to that level of advancement and to survive frozen for that long one needs hell lot of money!!!

I think hanging onto life even after death is hanging on too long. Some detachment is called for. Buddhism, anyone?

I totally agree...It's more like not following a natural life cycle. And whenever mankind deviated from the natural course of life, we suffered the from consequences. but then we all have our own set of values and beliefs, right! :-)

Once the bodies are reanimated, they'll probably be complaining about how hot it is!

The process involves cooling, and then maintaining, a dead body in liquid nitrogen in the hope future scientific procedures will be able to revive the corpse and restore it to youth and good health. ... 'Look at cloning. Everyone said that that
