Sometimes I wonder some people have some time to do some research on some topics! I mean come on, you waste your energy and resources and time to do research on confirming whether women are attracted to a bald rich man as compared to a tall and handsome poor hunk. Okay now, this one is my own self created hypothesis.
But something similar to this kind of research is one conducted in the University of Wales where psychologists involved 120 female volunteers to find out the level of attractiveness of males to females with the addition of a flashy car in perspective.
The study revealed that when females were shown the images of the same man sitting in different cars, they found him more attractive in a flashy car than in a simple old worn down car. The psychologists believe such an inclination towards the wealthy guy is more evolutionary than just the individual preference in nature.
Michal Dunn, who led this research which has been published in British Journal of Psychology, said, “In the past, women were very restricted economically and tied to men for financial security but in recent years, through female emancipation, they have become independently wealthy with access to their own financial security. But you find is that there is still a preference for wealthy males, which suggests that these preferences are evolutionary, rather than social factors.”
On the contrary, psychologists believe males do not consider wealth as an attractive feature for selecting women rather their instincts still consider the reproductive traits as the measure of attractiveness for their female counterparts. Seems like, Madonna wasn’t wrong when she sang, she is a Material Girl!
