In 1996, there was a murder case registered against five persons. The reason of the murder was political rivalry. Based on evidence furnished, the court held all the five guilty and awarded them life sentence in July 1998. However, the reportedly murdered person surfaced last year and was taken into custody.

All the five accused were out on bail but one of them committed suicide three years back. The surviving four have now approached the authorities demanding a CBI enquiry into the affair as well as compensation of Rs 25 lakhs each.
