PC World reports that Apple has now sold over 17 million iPhones since its phenomenal launch barely two years ago. In 2008, Apple had set its sights to sell 10 Million phones, but it ended up selling 13 million, well ahead of the target.

The success of iPhone has also been replicated with iPod Touch with another 13 million units sold during the same period. Ipod Touch is the next generation of music and video players since the original ipod came earlier this decade.

These devices have been made further addictive by the huge number of useful applications available through the Apple Store. So far, Apple reports over 800million downloads from the store. That's nearly a billion!

While the global economy continues to slow down, consumers seem to be still in love with Apple gadgets and the sales of these devices will further strengthen Apple and help it grow in the foreseeable future.

This gadget truly deserves it and people tend to treat it more like a companion than an ipod!

Iphone has managed to create a desirable image for itself, people don’t mind spending too much money on it. My only concern has been its sensitivity; its very fragile compared to other phones.
