What happens when hundreds of aspiring, miniature models are forced to wait overnight in long casting lines for a chance at becoming America's Next Top Model? (and a fashion spread in Seventeen magazine, a modeling contract with Elite, and so on and so on...)
All hell breaks loose.
This Fall season on Tyra Bank's hit show, America's Next Top Model, former supermodel Banks is aiming to knock down industry stereotypes of beauty and is accepting models under 5'7". The casting held this morning was open only to models who had formerly been told they were too short for the catwalk by industry standards. Hundreds of girls had been waiting in line overnight outside the Park Central New York hotel in Manhattan, New York, when an overheated car prompted an unknown bystander to yell, "There's a bomb!", leading to mass panic. Six people were injured as chaos erupted and barricades overturned by anxious, wannabe models, and three people were later arrested.
The audition was shut down by authorities.
