There were violent outbreaks a few hours ago in Athens and Thessaloniki, Greece. In Athens a bunch of youngsters started their rampage tour in Kolonaki, an area in Athens' centre. The youngsters damaged shopwindows , banks and cars that were parked in the area by throwing stones and smashing everything in sight with ironpipes. The youngsters wwere demanding the realease of the anarchist George Boutsis, who is in jail for a robbery that he commited.

At the same time violent outbreaks in Thessalonika.

At the same time with the rampage march in Athens , young men followed suit in Thessalonika smashing banks and parked cars with stones and sledgehammers. They too were demanding the release of the anarchist George Boutsis.

Is the Greek police capable keeping order? These incidents follow the 'gone wrong' robbery of yesterday where a 32 year old woman was shot in front of a policeman who had drawn his weapon on the robber. Two men had entered a shop in Athens, one of them demanded with drawn guns the cash in the registry. The woman said she didn't have any money where upon the robber went to get the cash himself. The moment he was behind the counter a customer in the shop, who was a policeman, drew his gun in fromt of the civilians and threatend to shoot. The robber shot first and in the cross fire the 32 year employee was shot.

When both sides are armed, you don't wait, no, policemen shouldn't wait for the other person to get 'scared' because both hold equal violent power at that time.
And smashing cars and banks, why are these people doing damage to their own land for a person who got what he deserved.

It's always hard to argue with "misguided" anarchists. The intellectual
basis for anarchy itself is valid IF everyone agrees to get along
collectively..too often youth see anarchy as a right to riot!
