Michael Jackson to Return to Concert Stage

Pop star MIchael Jackson announced Thursday in London a multi night apperance at the O2 Arena. Scheduled to begin July 8, AEG Live and Jackson have agreed to 10 concerts with an option for an extension to 20 or 25 concerts if ticket sales warrent more shows. Being billed the "final curtaincall" Jackson stated that the O2 Arena shows will be his last, at least in the city of London.

The Las Vegas style "residency" has sparked the careers of other artists such as Prince, Take That, the Spice Girls, and Kylie MinogueKylie Minogue. Popster Britney SpearsBritney Spears has also booked the famous venue as a part of her current tour.

When asked about Jackson' health and ability to play an extended series, AEG Live represenatives stated that Jackson had passed a four and a half hour physical examination by independent doctors. Officials said that Jackson is fit, focused, and sane.

In other Michael JacksonMichael Jackson news; the auction house Juliens is scheduled to hold an auction of Jackson's personal belongings from the singer's Neverland Ranch. Jackson gave his permission for the items to be removed from the home but said that the famous auction house could not sell the items until Jackson gave his permission. Juliens stated that they had no other intention but to sell the items when they were taken from the property. But only a few weeks before the start of the auction Jackson's people issued a lawsuit designed to halt the sale claiming Jackson did not give his permission for the sale.

The Jackson catalogue contained some 2,000 items including art, personal items, and awards presented to Jackson. At this time the state of the auctin is unknown.

As much as I appreciate your reports AND by virtue of the fact that
I'm a big Bruce Springsteen fan and post stuff about him etc..
I find it's a little Overkill to put this many pics up over Mr.
Jackson..fan or not. Just a comment..not an attack Snuf!

In retrospect AND apology..I now notice that your story "loaded"
3 or 4 times on my e-mail and sent me 164 pics of Mr. Jackson
attached to the story. Mea Culpa for biting your head off..obviously
a tech Glitch..prevalent today on Alvoices..I lost 2-3 stories and had

Good to hear that Michael Jackson is hitting the stage again. No matter what you think of him, and despite all the controversy that has surrounded him in the past, you can't deny that he is the biggest musical legend ever. His Thriller album brought an unbelievable movement. It is the #1 selling album of all time, with over 100 million copies sold! I believe it's the only album to break the 100 million mark! I'm glad he's getting back to doing what he does best.

I agree with InspectorGadget, it will be good to have him back on stage. I wonder if all those controversies had any real standing, if they didn’t than really it was hitting below the belt. He is a good singer lets appreciate him for that let his personal life stay home.

The Beatles and Elvis Presley are the only others that can contend. Look at Michael's album sales. Thriller sold 100 million copies worldwide. No other album has been able to do that, which is why you can validly argue that he is the biggest musical legend.

Hmmm okay valid point, but then I don't think that is the only argument to be taken into consideration. Distribution, piracy and technology all figure into this as well! But yes, I agree with you that The Beatles and Elvis definitely are contenders for this title... and so is, surely, Jacko.
