The stunning beautiful, Mt Everest is the highest peak of the world. It is 29,028 feet or 8848 metre high and lies in the central north of Nepal near China border.

This is the season of the climbing so a large number of climbers have started to pack up for the Everest.

Some of them can be seen in the streets of Kathmandu specially in the trekking agencies which organise the mountaineering.

The highest peak was first scaled by Tenjing Norgey Sherpa of Nepal and Edmund Hillary of New Zealand. Both of them have died.

May 29, 1953 was the first day of the Everest step so it has special significance in the mountaineering calendar.

More than 2000 people from all over the world have climbed the Everest so far. They comprise from all continents including one African.

Sherpas, people living in the northern part of Nepal, are the bravest adventurous who have climbed or accompanied the mountaineers.

Now the Sherpas live in many parts of the world including in Kathmandu.

Now is the season to climb and we will get news of climbing within a month and that ends by the end of May with the change in weather.

Visit Nepal, see the wonderful beauty of the Himalayas and taste the real organic food with the lovely welcome of the friendly Nepalese.
