Surprise surprise…For all those who always wanted to meet with the great Albert Einstein and wanted to have any sort of interaction with the legendary scientist, hold your breath as your dream has become a reality now. Scientists at University of California are developing this scarily, realistic Robo-Einstien that had its first public debut appearance at the Technology, Design, and Entertainment conference in the U.S this month.
The robot uses 31 motors to create different human expressions. Although this very Einstein cannot come up with complex theories like that of relativity but scientists say they are developing this robot to understand emotional intelligence. One of the main purposes of this man machine is to understand the human-robot interaction as well as the possible future conflict between the two.
Although the purpose seems quite fictional and those of you who have watched the flick, irobot could very easily imagine the futuristic conflict between human race and the robot race. We can only hope for a future free of any sort of conflict between man and machine as presently we have enough of man-man conflict at hand to deal with for another one century.
Coming back to the robot, Mr. Einstein can understand and respond to different expressions such as anger, sadness, fear, and confusion. It can also mimic simple gestures such as nods. Quite freaky, right? Wait till you hear this out; this sophisticated robot presently costs more than £ 50,000 but Mr. David Hanson, chief designer of Hanson Robotics seems to be extraordinarily impressed with Mr. Einstein. He said that he is aspiring to mass produce such robots for under £150. Now I feel like saying, “It’s going to be a robots’ world…and I will be only!”
