CALIFORNIA'S WATERSHEDS--If you see a bright flashing object that looks like a UFO near clouds, just before it rains, that could be an airplane seeding clouds with "Silver Iodide". The iodide will cause more precipitation--rain or snow--to condense and fall to the ground.
Usually, when the weather conditions are right--storm clouds are storming above 9,000 Ft. to 11,000 Ft. and the temperature is 5 degrees centigrade--an airplane will shoot a silver iodide salts flare, from a canon in the wing, into the clouds: the flare explodes and the iodide salts the clouds.
It has been noted that silver iodide is toxic, but the small doses that are used for seeding is almost untraceable, an expert at the University of Davis, CA, said.
It is common sense that we must try all possible means to keep our big reservoir--The Sierra Nevada Mountains--full of snow or water, so we will have enough water for California. Seeding clouds is one way we can try to keep our watersheds full.
So, therefore, don't panic when you see bright lights(flares) in the sky during a storm, it could be a seeding procedure taking place to produce more moisture for California.
