Islamic Sharia implemented in troubled Swat Valley

Sharia law has been implemented in lawless Swat VAlley in Pakistan after an agreement between the government and militants. The agreement was inked between the NWFP chief minister and TNSM chief Maulana Sufi Mohammad. It is hoped the agreement would restore peace in the valley that was troubled for the past two years. Hundreds are killed and injured while hundreds of thousand went homeless in teh violence in the region. Hundreds of thousand girls are not attending school after threats to blow up these insitutions.

NWFP chief minister Ameer Haider Hoti announced signing agreement between the militants and government.
