Years may have passed by but the significant crank of the engine the grunge of the accelerator remains the same. Porsche has traveled through time and has always remained performance first and recently turned towards the more fashion oriented crowds.

Constant excellence and undeterred passion for mastering roads has led the company to establish the Porsche museum. The ‘space – ship like structure’, according to the time magazine, is built by a Viennese Architecture firm Delugan Meissl, in the southern German city of Stuttgart, where many years from now, in 1938, Ferdinand Porsche made the very first WV Beetle on the orders of Adolf Hitler. And a year later the 64 which became the forefather of the Porsche models to come.

The building from its structure to its function is truly a work of art and has put Stuttgart in the lime light. The main exhibition hall houses cars from every generation of Porsche’s history and some of them are even in working condition. From the foyer in the basement visitors can peak into the workshops where Porsche’s expert mechanics restore vintage cars for display – kind of a curators studio. The museum has archives; journals, news clippings and a pictorial account of the Porsche through history so that people can study the legend of Porsche and sift through some of the famous races that have won by this car.

Even though Porsche in the recent times hasn’t been doing good financially, this museum is one of those strategic linchpins that elevate a brand to immortality. A place worth a visit the next time you visit Germany.
