Love is one universal feeling that experienced by every individual. And what better way to express it than in 14th of February when cupid darts his arrows into the hearts of the people who just love to love. Every year millions of people all over the world take out time in selecting the best gift for their loved one. It could be that Burberry tie he wanted or the killer lingerie set that she fell for. What ever the case may be, the entire process from gift selection to wrapping to delivery is a process you’d wish to be part of entirely. The sense of ownership towards every little thing becomes a second nature.
I may sound cynical and most of you may think that I am say all of this because a fail to live the actual meaning the Valentine’s Day, but it just hurts me to realized and say that people are truly blind. Celebrating valentine’s is a great gesture, but can no body realize that there are other bigger issues in this world than following traditions and having no holds bared love making sessions all day long. Satisfying the thirst for love and everything that individuals need to express is not harmful, but at the same time they may be neglecting the environment that they live in of which their future generations will be part of. And the world that we see today may become something not for people to love but to hate.
If we can mark a day for love, at least we could have a conscience geared towards taking care of the environment, or at least not adding to the damage that has already been done. They say love is blind, but lust is deaf, dumb and crippled. It takes an entire society down with it. Please think on this day of love. That if we put 10% of the passion that we put in on valentine’s day, our planet may survive what experts term as colossal damage.
