At least six people were wounded in a bomb blast in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar Wednesday, police said.
"A remote-controlled bomb exploded on Dalla Zak road in Peshawar, wounding six people," local police official Khan Abbas said.
He said police teams had rushed to the blast site, adding that no further information immediately was available.
Abbas said several cars were damaged in the blast, which came shortly after the arrival of U.S. special envoy Richard Holbrooke in Peshawar, capital of the North West Frontier Province.
Peshawar is close to Pakistan's semi-autonomous tribal zones, which border Afghanistan and where government forces have been battling pro-Taliban and Al Qaeda-linked militants.
