Yes, and state-sponsored lotteries are generally safer and more legit than the numbers-running games of old organized by guys with names like "Lefty," "Bugsy" and "Knuckles."

In California and a dozen or more other states, doctors can and in some cases do recommend cannabis to patients like Amy Winehouse under this very real "harm reduction" approach, and if Congress would reclassify cannabis as a Schedule II drug, doctors all across the USA could do the same. But most California-based doctors would probably recommend that Amy eat the cannabis in baked goods or use a vaporizer to inhale instead of smoking. Both of these methods of ingestion are much easier on the lungs, yet still deliver the same effects.

It's long past time for governments to tax and regulate cannabis so authorities can apply all that previously misdirected law enforcement energy toward preventing and solving serious crimes. The world would be a much safer place if this were so.

I totally concur dude ... too much time and cash has been invested trying to bust weed .. its high time , as you say for the authorities to do some real crime solving!
