In an interesting development Union Minister Renuka Chaudhary has been at loggerheads with the Karnataka government for failing to protect women in the aftermath of the Mangalore pub attack.

Sources have reported that posters have come up across the city warning couples against celebrating Valentine's Day and asking shop keepers to not stock romantic cards or gifts.

Union Minister Choudhary as suggested that the Centre would have to intervene if things developed further and the State Government was unable to maintain law and order. She also added that the youth should go to pubs in droves to make their point and not allow such hooliganism to flourish
