Ice Storm 2009

I live in Western Arkansas when last week "Ice Storm 2009" passed just north of us. We did see effects of this, however it was nothing compared to what Northwest Arkansas and other parts of the nation experienced. It is more than a week later and we still have roughly 15,000 people without power. Entire towns were at a standstill because of this tragedy. There has been over 15 million dollars damage to public property in 2 counties alone, this does not include the millions in private property. Now, Washington County Emergency Management is saying "there is no money now". I don't know what they expect these people, in some cases entire towns to do. And this is going on everywhere this ice storm hit. I'm not trying to downsize what happens in other countries abroad or anything, but I know when natural disasters and tragedies occur elsewhere we always send millions almost immediately! Why isn't it the same for our own American Citizens? These people shouldn't have to question whether or not they will receive help.
