Flirty Girl pole dancing fitness

Anyone who says that they wouldn't get distracted by a pole-dancing tutorial during their lunch break is outright lying.

And this was exactly the result of a risque display during a health drive at a London school.

Apparently, the school hired 32-year-old Sam Reemer, owner of the pole-dancing company "The Art of Dance," to display modern fitness pole dancing as a part of the schools health drive. Unfortunately for the school, the 1000-something teens were more inclined to take videos and pictures with their cell phones than absorb the exercise lesson.

The Sun paraphrased Reemer as saying "pole dancing is appropriate for young teenagers at school as it is a mix of dance moves and gymnastics and is excellent for fitness."

Similar workout programs like "Flirty Girl Fitness" and "pole-aerobic" classes are becoming increasing popular in the USA. But is the price of good fitness coming at the sacrifice of a moral standard? Is there a morality price attached to good health?

All I really know is I wish we had pole dancers displaying techniques during lunchtime. It would have been an incentive for me not to sneak off campus everyday.

I am in a class called Moral Philosophy, and even though I've only been in it for a month, I have a feeling that implementing pole-aerobic classes in high schools is NOT moral. Pole-dancing is indecent and incorporating this activity in high school health classes sets a bad precedence for students. As rules become more lax, students start to feel that they aren't under any restrictions. They start to take advantage of the situation, and they start to make immoral decisions, jeopardizing their spirit and their futures. What happened to hip hop dancing or running track? Lifting weights? Soccer? Basketball? Gymnastics? What is wrong with those activities that we have to them out and adopt a scandalous new activity that will only corrupt our students' minds?

haha... These are the same reasons people thought the Waltz was immoral. (look it up)

Frankly, your comment, to me at least, seems to be closer to hysteria than to moral philosophy.

What exactly makes it immoral? I'm sure we could argue all night about whether the kind of pole dancing performed in strip clubs is moral or not, but this is something different -- nobody is getting undressed, for starters.
Have a look at some of the pole dancing clips on YouTube. The movements are not that different from what you commonly see in gymnastics, think of it as a vertical balance beam if it makes you feel better. It's much more strenuous, though.

Yeah, what happened to the more traditional sports? They don't seem to get young people out of the living room anymore. Maybe pole dancing will get them to do some physical activity again.

well my say on this is that pole dancing has originated from 'adult entertainment'. Pole dancing has this negative perception in everyone's mind.

I wont say its a question of morality in any way. Its just a social stigma that is attached to poll dancing. Rest, yes i am sure its strenuous and might actually convince people to work out. Its just inert fear that children might go and take pole dancing as a profession later in life.

Good article AndyHarper. I uploaded some images to your report so readers could see what the Flirty Girl fitness routine is. Your last paragraph is funny!

Yea, I disagree with The Sun statement. Pole dancing fitness is not appropriate for young teenagers at school. It's a very bad idea to incorporate that into a fitness curriculum at schools.

I don't view pole dancing fitness as immoral or indecent, but it's only appropriate for adults. Notice the women in the Flirty Girl fitness photos are all adult women. I think it's fine for adult women to attend these fitness classes and then to practice in private. I'm sure many marriage counselors, for example, would encourage it.

If practised in a closed room with the intention to excercise rather than distract, then why not?

Pole dance or any form of dance.. is good... child or adults.. after all it is one form of art.. where there is a girl and a pole.. so what's the whole fuss about?

The women.. dances.. it'll act as an exercise as well.. and rejuvenate her in the whole process....
