AREA NEAR KENNEDY MEADOWS, CA, USED IN SUPPER BOWL XLIII COMMERCIALS

SONORA, CA--Tuolumne County high country will be featured in a million dollar commercial for this year's Supper Bowl in Tampa Florida, according to Tuolumne County Film Director.

The 2009 football Super Bowl XLIII will be held in James Stadium, Tampa, FL, on Sunday, February 1, 2009. The Pittsburgh Steelers will meet the Arizona Cardinals at 3:00 p.m.; and their will be a "Bridgestone Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show", featuring Bruce Springstien and his band.

In October, a tire commercial was shot in Tuolumne County, CA, and will be spotley shown during the game. In October, under secrecy, a production crew set up a base camp along State Highway 108, near Kennedy Meadows, CA, to shoot a tire commercial.

Tuolumne County Film director, Jerry Day, said that the request for a location to shoot a commercial came in late July or August. Two months later, he got a call that a location manager wanted to use the area for the commercial--a production crew of sixty and, some, locals were used.

Tuolumne County locations have been used in many movies and many commercials--High Noon, Lone Ranger series, etc.
