Vladimir Putin's Painting auctioned over $1million

Russian Prime Minister has tried to put all the great painters behind when his painting was sold for more than a million dollars at a charity function in his home town St. Petersburg.

Auction done on saturday was for to raise the money for a hospital, a church and a cancer clinic in the city.

His painting of a frost-rimed window in a traditional log hut brought in more than any of the others and of the well known Russian painters on auction.

Moscow gallery owner Natalya Kunikova bought the painting for 37 million rubles($1.1 million) by claiming Putin's work as, possibly the first and last painting of its kind.
