Cricket legend Matthew Hayden’s announced his retirement at the Gabba, Brisbane today. Though stating that this move was a desire to be closer to family, his retirement however does not come as a surprise to anyone who has been watching his form for the last few weeks. Hayden has failed in making over 50 runs in the last five matches.

His legendary performance in the past can not be doubted. Many can still recall his brief world-record of 380 runs against Zimbabwe at the WACA on 10/10/2003.

His retirement will make way for some new blood in cricket.

This 'new blood' still has a hell lot to learn from the old blood who are far more experienced unlike the 'new blood' that only consists of uncontrolled enthusiasm!
