Is this a Giant Crossword Puzzle or a Building?

A first look at this tower and one thinks this is a huge crossword puzzle but soon reality hits that well, it isn’t just a crossword puzzle but a building as well. Titled the world’s biggest crossword puzzle, this piece of art adorning the external side of a residential building is centre of tourist’s attraction in the city of Lvov, Ukraine.

This crossword puzzle is almost 100ft tall that is 34 squares high and 19 squares across. Obviously the puzzle is too big to be filled in with hands so the artists came across a unique way of revealing the correct answer to the entire cross word puzzle. When night falls, the letters in all the squares in the cross word are lit up as they are embedded with florescent light and give away the correct answers in the glow of light.

The clues to the crosswords are scattered throughout the city’s parks, landmarks, theatres, and fountains. This encourages visitors and tourists to exercise their brains and legs while strolling around looking for clues to answer the crossword puzzle. Just in case they are not sure about the correct answer, they can gather around the building at night to see the correct answers on the building.

The city of Lvov is in situated in the far west of Ukraine, close to the border of Poland. The city is proud of its culture and boasts about its tradition with its own philharmonic orchestra, ballet, and opera. The city was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.
