Obama Wants To Delay The Switch To Digital

In his latest proposal, Obama has stated that he wants to delay the switch to digital because so many people do not have their converter boxes. Those that are ready have express concern for this move by Obama because everyone has known about the change for the last two years.

The truth is that the program that sends out the $40 off coupon for the converter boxes has run out of money and has no more coupons. There was no word to whether they would get more money or if they would have more coupons for those waiting in the near future.

The program has run out. However, the program is to help the few remaining Americans to switch to Digital from Analog not to High Definition (HD).

I think they should go through with it as planned. People have been informed over and over again through a variety of different mediums. Everyone should know by now. And plus, with or without the delay, there will still be some unprepared people.

I agree. He should definitely go ahead with it. Delaying it isn't going to change anything as such.

People have know about it for so long that there is no reason to delay it. if people aren't prepared for it now, chances are a few more months are not going to make much difference.

i have 2 coupons that are now out of date..i lost my job, could not afford them at that time, found a job and now have to pay full price-what a rip-off...another government program for the rich...i'll do without tv - and i voted for obama

I was not aware that there was an expiration date on the coupons. That should have been addressed before making the coupons available. Not everyone has the money right away. That really defeats the purpose of offering the coupon so people can afford to have TV when the switch comes.
