A helicopter owned by Petroleum Helicopters Inc (PHI) crashed around 100 miles southwest of New Orleans, in the marshes along Bayou Penchant. This helicopter was headed to a Shell Oil platform in the South Timbalier 300 block off the coast of Terrebonne, Rovinelli states.
Eight passengers including both pilots were killed and the ninth survived. Details of the eight passengers killed are:

Beside these killed there was one more passenger who survived - Steven Yelton, who is from Floresville, Texas, and he works Dynamic Industries. He is currently hospitalized with critical injuries.
The cause of helicopter crash is still unknown and is under investigation by Petroleum Helicopters Inc (PHI) and the National Transportation Safety Board.
