Man dressed as Thor scares off burglar

Thor

Torvard Alexander, 38, is a daunting figure at 6 feet tall. Imagine how intimidating he could be wrapped in foil with a flowing red cape and a silver-winged helmet.

Alexander has become somewhat of a cult hero in the English press. He had just returned from a New Year's Eve party and was in his 350,000 Pound Sterling home. He spotted a perpetrator in his front room rifling through his desk.

But when Alexander appeared in his shiny, thunderous glory, the robber turned in fear and jumped from the window of the first floor leaving his shoes behind. Alexander suspects the robber may have had a few drinks himself and be prone to such fright. He's holding on to the shoes in the hope that they will help locate the robber.

In the meantime, Alexander is basking the glory. He continues to speculate on how if he had been carrying the equivalent of Thor's magical hammer, he may have scared the robber to death.

Thor is a bad-ass, there's no doubt about it. And if G.W. Bush ever sets foot in this guy's home, he has an extra pair of shoes at the ready for you-know-what.

Has anyone else noticed that shoes have been headlining news a lot lately? Anyway, I don't blame the robber for taking off. You gotta think about this from the thief's perspective. Most likely, he thought this through before doing it. Worst case scenario, he was expecting a couple swings from the home owner's bat when he got in. But when he got there and saw a dude with a cape and tin foil on his head, it was over! Nobody would mess with a guy wearing such a ridiculous outfit!
