The whole world is turning their heads to events in Gaza. We are all wondering how long-lasting the effects will be for the whole region as well as the world. Ultimately this will cause suffering to a lot of innocent people on both sides in the area around Gaza. The reports of increasing violence in the Gaza strip certainly do not create a sense of belief in a solution anytime soon. The constant spiral of violence is something we as a society need to overcome, bridge and change. I truly believe it is time for us to open a dialogue about these events and what they mean to us as a global society.

Let us start the dialogue now!

I feel deeply sad for the innocent men, woman and children. However those holy wars have been going on for thousands of years.

If we sent Israel into Iraq 8 years ago it would of been over 8 years ago. Some how we the US will have a retaliation form either side once we do finally intervene.

I have no personal connections to either side but I do have many friends who have both friends and family caught in the middle.

Actually "those holy wars" have not been going on for thousands of years, if you are referring to the Arab/Jew conflict over Palestine/Israel. It's a common fallacy. 1948 is when it started--60 years ago. If you mean holy wars in general, as in the christian crusades, yes, that goes way back...

Yeah, this situation is pretty sad. I guess it is time for all in the region to realize that they have tried the same tactics for over 60 years now and it hasn't worked. Maybe it is time for a new strategy. :-)

I agree eriks, and thank you for facilitating a discussion. It's so painful to see unnecessary suffering. This truceless war desperately needs resolution. Let's open the dialogue & hope for peace. You can read my more extensive comment on the recent violence at http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/2127173-in-pictures-massacre-of-gazan-children.
