now that is one interesting report.

a scandal, a big one before even entering US Presidential office! Awesome. That is history in making. Obama would now need to put some bandage, hmmm maybe a grim future for his team mates, who are accused?

The most interesting aspect of this report by Mfloyd is that former Blago chief of staff Harris is "singing" to the feds. If Harris points the finger directly at Barack or Rahm, and the new president is on the defensive before even becoming the new president, then something *might* stick. Everything else is just conjecture at this point.

Interesting, too, was the inclusion of the CNN timeline. I had forgotten about the network's announcement re: Jarrett being Obama's choice for the Senate seat, and I had also forgotten about the story changing the next day.

All in all, though, unless Obama is directly implicated in violating federal statute(s) with compelling evidence to back up the claim, this whole scandal begins to fade in relevance the moment Blago steps down. As sleazy and sordid and downright corrupt as it may be, it pales in comparison to the larger problems facing the country and the world today.

The Bush administration arguably got away with treason in the outing of Plame, so I suspect Obama can get away with his connections to the slimy underbelly of Chicago politics. And yes, I know - using "slimy underbelly" and "Chicago politics" in the same sentence is redundant.
