Though 2008 wasn't the best year in the financial sector, it was a very creative year for technology, primarily consumer gadgets. Here's a list of the top ten gadgets of the year.
#1. Apple iPhone 3G
The iPhone 3G burst onto the scene in 2008 to massive applauds from everyone. Though the original iPhone appeared in June of 2007, and was hailed as Time magazine's Invention of the Year in 2007, it stole all the attention in 2008 as well.
It was such a spectacular hit with consumers, selling over $50 million worth of iPhones, that it was followed by many look-alikes, such as the Maizu and the LG Prada KE850.
#2. The Flip Video Camera
Though it was released originally in 2006, the Flip made a huge appearance in 2008. It was even featured on Oprah, and its sales went up dramatically. It's affordable under $200 price-tag was also a big hit with consumers in a difficult economy.

Called a "subnotebook" the MSI Wind is a tiny PC that's been called "highly hackable" and durable. It's tiny design, its light-weight, and its affordable under $450 price tag was perfect for consumers who wanted a small light notebook that could be used on the run, and for small work like word processing and internet browsing.
#4. Hulu.com
Hulu appeared out of nowhere it seemed, but soon everyone was catching up on yesterday's Daily Show and Colbert Report episodes. Hulu offers websurfers to watch some of the most popular shows in high quality with limited commercial interruptions.
