Cha-Cha Protesters in Makati

Thousand of Anti-Charter Change (Cha-Cha) protesters gathered yesterday in Makati City and Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila. this is to oppose President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to rewrite the Philippine Constitution and extend her stay in office.

Despite of the police blockade that kept the protesters from the province, people turned up interfaith rally in Makati City. People oppoe Cha-Cha, as a citizen of this country I think that the best way to rewrite the constitution is after Prisident Arroyo's term.

I understand that she want the constitution to be rewritten, like what businessmen said that they are not against changing the constitution but the timing is bad for its like shooting themselves in the foot.

If the government really want this, they can do it after 2010 or they should have start it earlier especially if this means progress for the country or if this is really beneficial for the people.

It was written that the present president of the country cannot run again for another term and if they will pursue with Cha-Cha this will extend her stay in the office. That is why people is opposing this.

I am a citizen of this country and I love my homeland, all I want is peace for everyone and make our world a better place to live not only for ourselves but for the next generation to come.

Do you think that voting will resolve this issue among filipino people? Have them decide if they want Cha-Cha (rewrite Philippine constitution) or not during her term.

I don't know much about how good of a job she has done since I don't know much about Philippine politics, but it does not sound like the peole want her there. I agree with you though living in a peaceful place without fighting is certainly the best situation.
