It makes you wonder why!!
As I sit here having a quiet hour to myself, I begin to wonder about things which surround me, not material things, the things which make or motivate you to go do the next chore or go make dinner, make a phone call etc.
I ask why, what makes a person keep on going, travelling through a day which melts to night and what happens in between.
When I got up from bed this morning, my first action was put the kettle on, then visit the toilet, then back to making the best cup of tea of the day which is made even better with a couple of cigarettes.
I then move into the living room and switch on my laptop, I’ve got to see how I’m doing on Allvoices, are people interested in my submitted article, have they viewed them or commented on them.
I now know why I go through this ritual every morning – it’s because every human being on this planet needs to know they actually do exist, sometimes we humans go through life on automatic pilot and it may take a crisis of some form or another, for us to re-examine our lives and consider what drives us forward.
Interaction with family, work colleagues, friends, and unknown acquaintances on the internet are what keeps us moving forward – ambition to succeed and be able to communicate and receive the same in return is what matters.
Over the past few weeks, I have spent a lot of my days on the internet; I seem to need to grasp as much information as I can possibly get to stop boredom setting in.
I lost my business you see, on 13th September 08, and cannot let my mind starve of all the activity which used to go on in it. Every day was an adventure, every day a challenge, and now, no more. The mind needs information, data, and statistics for it to survive, to keep boredom or something worse from setting in.
At best, I’m glad for the internet, it carries many dangers of which I’ve been a victim, but on the whole its been good for me, its kept me going, its helped me keep my focus and from next week it will be my part-time hobby, I’m moving onto something else, something that will give me little time to cruise around the WWW.
I will still keep contact with the two best friends, I could ever meet, while on the internet and thank them both from the bottom of my heart, Dennis from So Cal, USA and Roseanne from Wigan, who helped me through this most difficult time. I want to thank them very much for the support and encouragement they both gave to a total stranger, support that I could not get closer to home.
If anyone reads this little story, have faith in people, don’t let a bad experience on the internet put you off, keep on going, drive on and keep your dreams and make them a reality.
To Paula at Allvoices, Thank You for letting me continue to contribute to Allvoices, you were brilliant, and I hope you meet another Scottish boy soon.
From this moment on, I’ve decided that, rather than contribute news stories or celebrity news to Allvoices from already written pieces of Journalism, my articles will be solely my opinions, my written word and my own personal stories.
Thanks also to all who visited my contribution’s to Allvoices.
