O.J. Sentenced to Nine Years

For years many felt that O.J. Simpson deserved to be behind bars, and now their wish has come true. Today O.J. was sentenced to what will be at minimum, nine years in prison for his part in a 2007 hotel raid. Simpson was charged with robbing collectible dealers of thousands of dollars in sports memorabilia.

The New York Times also reports that Simpson made a surprising statement to the judge at the sentencing. Simpson reportedly told Judge Jackie Glass of Clark County District Court, "I didn’t want to hurt anybody. I didn’t know I was doing anything wrong."

The Judge additionally denied a bail request for Simpson pending an appeal trial.

Thanks for the report Roxanne. I commented on another user's report about OJ's sentencing earlier today by vishnughimire, but it didn't include the other quote from OJ. The quote you included is very interesting (i.e. what he said to the judge about not wanting to hurt anybody). I'm reading conflictly reports on the # of years he was sentenced. Has it been confirmed that it's a minimum of 9 years, or is it more?

Hi there! You know, I wondered about the conflicting sentence too. I've since seen 15 years, and even as much as 20 years. The nine years came from a New York Times article (linked in my article) that indicated nine years was the minimum number he would get with the sentence. So? Could be that the maximum is 15 years?
