Michael Jackson sings to Allah

The question is why did he convert? Is it for the same reason that prisoners become Muslims when they are in Jail? They need some relief, the need to belong when everyone else thinks they are scum of the earth. Something inside changes and there is a strong need to purify.

he did this to gain sympathy of the muslims because of his pending legal issue with al khalifa who is suing jackson for $7m. Muslims might convince al khalifa to drop the suit.

Good for Michael Jackson since it appears converting has made him happy. Apparently Michael's brother Jermaine converted long before him. Whatever gives someone comfort and peace is a good thing and should be embraced (i.e. we should be happy for people when they find a sense of peace in this world). Also, Michael has been an outcast in the US for a while now. Maybe he met some lovely Muslim people who treated him kindly and made him feel welcome in their community.

I agree with Olivier. Gaining sympathy of Muslims seems to be the only plausible reason one can think of as to why Micheal Jackson / Mikaeel would decide to convert to Islam just when he was sued for $7 million. But then again we can never be sure of why he did what he did and what was the ultimate source of inspiration behind his conversion. May God bless him and give him peace of mind.
