Are you a Smokey Smokerson too?

It's a pity how smokers can be so insensitive when they smoke with people around them, knowing they are harming others through passive smoking as well as themselves. Wait, who needs the ‘I'm-hurting-myself-only' factor here? Right, nobody needs that. But there is something that is called human value that smokers just do not understand; rather completely refuse to understand and they acknowledge it boldly.

Passive smoking is something that cannot possibly be avoided in this time because almost every other person is an addict of tobacco. Unless, you don't mind leaving your circle of friends because they smoke and get isolated in a corner far, far away so the smoke of the burning paper and tobacco doesn't get you the cough that doesn't go away and even haunts you when you're asleep. See, non-smokers can't help themselves alone here. Smokers would just have to accept that they are affecting others by lighting up a cigarette every ten minutes and they are the ones who should be looking for far away corners so as not to impose their dim-witted habit on others.

Some real facts state that passive smoking increases 30 percent risk of causing coronary heart diseases and 20 percent risk of lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It is something really important to think about.

Tips when action should necessarily be taken:

  • If it is your spouse who smokes, ask him or her to smoke in open air, not inside the house.
  • Smoking around children should be strictly prohibited.
  • If it is one of your friends who smokes, keep rubbing it in his or her face how insensitive and selfish he/she becomes when smoking with non smokers around.
  • If you are a smoker yourself, give quitting smoking a serious thought and the number of health benefits you lose when you smoke.
