Shu Quan Sheng, 68, may be a naturalized American citizen, but his heart still seems to be in his motherland. The Virginia based physicist pleaded guilty on Monday to charges of exporting space launch data and defence services to China.

The Justice Department has also implicated him in corruption charges in China involving government officials.

Shu held a position of influence. He was serving as president, secretary and treasurer of AMAC International, a high tech company that while based in the United States does have subsidiaries in China.

As per the charges he pleaded guilty to, he has been exporting defence services from the United States to China without any formal license or government approval. The duration of the travesty extends from January 2003 to October 2007. It is a violation of the Arms Export Control Act.

While it is not fully clear at this point how much of an impact this transfer of knowledge has made, Shu has revealed that he did divulge information relevant to the design and development of a cryogenic fueling system for space launch vehicles.

Thanks for the report jzahir. Thankfully, Shu Quan Sheng was caught, and at least he admitted guilt rather than lying. It's very disturbing that a naturalized Chinese-American citizen has/feels no allegiance to the country that housed him, employed him and gave him opportunity (the US). And it's sad because it certainly doesn't help China shake its reputation rampant corruption and often poor business ethics.
