TwoTaliban Killed And Five Civilian Injured During Operation In Mohmand Tribal Region Of Pakistan

GHALLANI: At least two persons were killed and four others injured on Friday in the ongoing operation in different areas of Mohmand Agency, sources told. In Mulla Khel area of Qandari, a strong hold of Taliban in tehsil Lakarro, militants of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban fired on the low flying choppers that targeted them in retaliation killing one militant Taliban and injuring three others. While security forces claimed to have killed three Taliban and injured six others that could not be verified independently. In another proceeding security forces made advancement to Juma Khan Korona, another stronghold of TTP, backed by helicopters that pounded the hide outs of Taliban in Rashakai, Juma Khan Korona, Qilla Shah Baig and Baadi Kor areas in the disputed 25 villages of Mohmand Agency. One civilian, Bakht Sher son of Nasib Sher was killed in shelling in Baadi Kor while a motorcar and a US Humvee jeep held from a convoy in Jamrud a few days back were also damaged in Juma Khan Korona. Security forces also continued artillery shelling in Sapary and Mulla Ghani Baba region where Taliban were thought to have accumulated. Sources told that Chingai Markaz of Taliban in Bungalow No.2 village was the target of shelling. However no reports of any casualties have been received so far. On the other hand residents of the restive Michni area are fleeing by way of boats towards Dawodzai area of district Peshawar escaping shelling. One of the boats carrying children overturned on Friday but several people present over there saved them on the spot.
