Kolkata: A total of 120 passengers of two aircraft had a narrow escape on Wednesday, when a collision between a Jet Airways flight, which was about to land, and a Kingfisher Airlines plane, taxiing on the runway, was averted at the NSC Bose International Airport here.

The Jet Airways flight number 9W 207 from Guwahati to Kolkata with 95 passengers on board was preparing to land when the captain noticed the Kingfisher Airlines aircraft, bound for Aizawl with 25 passengers, taxiing on the same runway, the sources said.

After the runway was cleared, the Jet Airways flight landed safely, the sources added.
