When Earth will Die, We'll go to Mars but When Sun will Die, Where to Then?

While we are living this wonderful life in the comforts of our planet Earth, most of us have totally forgotten that this Earth, like humans in not immortal. One day it will die. What will happen to the mankind then? Are we ready to accept our extinction with the death of our planet or are we prepared to move on, and start a new life on some other planet?

But then it is easier said than done. All this feel good hypothesis of moving to Mars when the Earth will start taking its last breath is not enough. There are a lot of mechanisms, intricate details, and complexities that we simply ignore while making such bold assumptions.

Mankind is not living on Earth in isolation. We have an ecosystem, the plants, the animal species, the insects, the trees and the oceans. Ever thought of living a life without all this that we take for granted nowadays? The survival of life on any planet is not dependent on any one or two things. It is all about Interdependence! We just cannot go to Mars and survive without the exquisite habitat that we are blessed with here on earth. Our situation on Mars will be similar to making a fish survive out of water. We will live but only for a very short time!

I came across this documentary titled, “Mars the man’s new home and then beyond” that comprises of two parts. After watching this I seriously thought for a moment about all the things around us that make our survival possible on this earth. The videos discuss how and why mankind will have to leave Earth at some point in future. Our stop then will be Mars but what will happen when our Sun – the giver of life will itself face death? Where to then?
