SAN MATEO, CA--Democrat and Republican parties headquarters are a bee-hive of activity.
Calls were being made to get the vote out, a lot of paper work being done, and many people coming and going.
When asked if there were any problems--machine breakdowns, lack of ballots, lack of personnel--the answer was that everything is going smoothly: This morning a few voting machines were slow, but within a very short time they perked up. In checking the Foster City area, there was no long lines. It seems that many people in the San Mateo County voted by absentee or early.
Along El Camino Real, San Mateo, CA, there are young people waving signs to vote NO or Yes on State Proposition 8 and Proposition 2. According to state authorities, the answer to Proposition 8--who won--will be late tonight.
