U.S. authorizes Boeing to sell spare parts to Iran

UN Security Council members vote on broader military and financial sanctions on Iran over its suspect nuclear program

The United States granted a license for the aircraft manufacturer Boeing selling commercial aircraft parts to Iran , said on Friday told AFP spokesman of the American group .

Press secretary of this version is the "short-term " and includes only aircraft in operation , he said. The decision represents a return to Iran Boeing, which do not operate a business with the U.S. embargo in 1979.

The license granted by the Ministry of Finance on the basis of an interim agreement on the Iranian nuclear program , agreed in November between Tehran and the Group 5 +1 ( the U.S. , France , Britain, China, Russia and Germany) , according to the spokesman.

Does not allow Boeing to sell new aircraft to Iran

The United States and European countries in recent years has imposed severe economic sanctions on Iran to force Tehran to halt its nuclear program, suspected of serving as a cover for an atomic bomb.

These sanctions were partially suspended in January after taking Iran to freeze part of its nuclear program.
