The triennial convention for GSUSA (Girl Scouts) started off tonight in Indianapolis. The convention is being attended by leaders, volunteers, staff, and girls from around the US and around the world. According to an estimate by WIBC radio from Indianapolis, over 11,000 people were in attendance.
Attendees tonight were treated to a concert by artist Karina Pais and entertainment by local Girl Scouts.
Information from Girl Scout volunteers at the convention indicates that the ceremonies were unusual. Unlike past conventions, the opening flag ceremony was rather non-traditional and not performed by girls from the local council.
