Ignite is a series of sessions held across the US and world where each person presenting is given 5 minutes and 20 slides to cover something you are passionate about.
First time done here in Phoenix, it went over great. Tonight, the 2nd one is being held. 31 submissions were whittled down to 19 presentations.
The introduction was done Ignite style. Core goals for the night are to learn something, support the speakers, meet people, and have fun. The presentations are going to run the gamut from riding the bus without losing your insanity to a technical presentation on building an online dating site.
Want to know more? Watch the videos. Follow us on twitter - #ignitephx. Watch it live on UStream tonight or later on Blip.TV.
Thanks to the organizing committee for letting us al come play.
A few facts: Everything is done by volunteers. In addition to the presenters, there are probably over 100 people here tonight to watch. More to come later - especially the videos!
Update: I was not able to upload the videos while at Jobing.com - too much else going on. I am uploading them now. The general concensouos is that the best presentation of the evening was either "Surviving Zombie Attacks", "How to make a tangible product in Phoenix", or "A Priming Primer".
That said, all of the presentations were great. I wish they were all going to be presented again on Saturday at PodCampAZ. Instead, there will be three more presentations done during the mini-ignite Saturday morning.
If you missed it tonight, watch the Ignite Phoenix blog for the links to the videos of the presentations. The materials will be available from the blog too.
